The "World Cinema Series" continues at The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls on Thursday May 23rd with a FREE screening of Wong Kar-wai's 2000 classic, "In The Mood For Love".

I actually (like most films I enjoy) stumbled across this film by mistake. I saw this film on some satellite channel (yes back when I had a dish) back in 2006 and I was stunned. There's no "shocking moments" or a big "dramatic revelation" in this quiet, subtle, yet beautiful looking masterpiece. It's a film filled with quiet, yet lively moments if that makes sense. There's of course love (it's in the title), yet there's betrayal, loss, missed opportunity, memories, etc. These moments fly by and are presented so beautifully, yet as I mentioned, very subtle.

"In The Mood For Love" was a decent enough success at the box office and with critics. Almost a quarter century later, the love for this film continues to grow and has not only come to be known as one of the greatest films of the 21st century and one of the greatest of all time!
