Glens Falls to cancel summer programs, keep beach and pool closed

The City of Glens Falls has suspended all downtown block parties through June 30th, cancelled summer programs and have shuttered the East Field pool and Haviland Cove beach for the summer as measures to keep the city’s residents safe as a result of the coronavirus.

In addition to the downtown block parties, the suspension includes any festivals and group events through the end of June, with a reassessment being handled by city officials in mid-June.   The cancellation of summer programs also includes all team sports with the exception of the Glens Falls Youth Softball and Baseball, with their fate being decided on Friday.

The cancellations will result in East Field being dormant through much of the summer as the Glens Falls Dragons will not play in 2020 with the cancellation of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season.
