Changes Coming to a Glens Falls Intersection

Changes are being made to a local intersection.

The Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) project that is going on in Downtown Glens Falls is moving forward to covert the intersection of South Street and Elm Street into a four way stop.   The traffic signal at the intersection has been switched to a flashing red, as they get prepared to dismantle the light and install stop signs on Friday, June 7th.

At that point, the intersection will become a 4-way stop, and all traffic laws pertaining to 4-way stops will be in effect.

This project along with others in the DRI is expected to bring more foot traffic to downtown Glens Falls, and as such, pedestrian safety will be essential, which engineers hope will be accomplished with the conversion of the intersection from a traffic signal to a 4-way stop.
