Hey all, friends! I’m Rockin’ Rick and I welcome you to join me weekends on Q101.7!
I’ve called the Glens Falls area my home all my life. I can recall the days of the Adirondack Red Wings raising banners at the Glens Falls Civic Center and the Glens Falls White Sox pitching shutouts at East Field back in the 1980’s. The countless years of the NYSPHSAA high school championships, including the opportunity to call the Joel Wincowski buzzer-beater to seal victory for the Lake George Warriors in the 2010’s for our sister station at FOX Sports Radio 97.9. Watching the Glens Falls Indians go from no sectional titles in nearly 20 years to three state championship appearances and two titles in football. And reminiscing when Zayre’s occupied a spot on top Miller Hill in Queensbury, Caldoor had a presence in the Aviation Mall, and Woolworth’s was in Downtown Glens Falls.
I hope to bring the same sense of historical storytelling and reminiscing when I’m telling you about the great vault of Classic Hits we have here on Q101.7. Whether it’s the story behind a song or the blood, sweat and tears that went into an artist’s album, I try to tell you so you can better appreciate the music that spans the decades, both older classics and newer.
