A nearby security camera caught the final seconds of the small plane before crashing near a Colonie neighborhood Monday.
The video, obtained by CBS 6, is reportedly from Afrim's Sports. The plane is seen coming into the frame in duress. Moments later an explosion can be heard and a plume of smoke can be seen through the trees.
The pilot was en route from Albany to Montreal when the plane crashed shortly after taking off from the Albany International Airport. Colonie Police said the pilot was the only person on board and died in the crash.
