The beloved Today Show host will also receive an honorary degree
Siena College has announced that Al Roker, co-host of NBC's 'Today' show, will deliver the commencement address at its graduation ceremony on May 18th. The event will take place at the MVP Arena in Albany. President Charles Seifert highlighted Roker's 'Lend a Hand Today' initiative, which has raised millions for small charities nationwide, aligning with Siena's Franciscan mission of service. He'll be receiving an honorary degree from the college. Approximately 850 undergraduate students will receive their diplomas at the ceremony.
Roker has been a mainstay on the Today show since 1996 when he took over for retiring weatherman Willard Scott. He continues to anchor morning weather reports and is co-host of the show's third hour.
