Heavy downpours moving through the area
As downpours continue over the Capital Region Monday afternoon and evening, the risk for flooding is high in flood-prone areas. One of those locations is the frequently flooded Western Avenue in front of Stuyvesant Plaza. The road is known to have water levels over a foot, often causing cars and drivers to become stranded.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the northeast portion of Albany County and the southeast portion of Schenectady County - which includes Guilderland, Colonie and Niskayuna.
The warning is in effect until 6:15pm.
