Police say it could have been much worse had the neighbor not stepped in
A neighbor is being called a hero after stepping in during a violent home invasion Monday afternoon in Guilderland.
It happened just before 4:40 p.m. on Dutch Hill Terrace. Police say a man forced his way into a home and attacked the resident inside. The fight moved outside, where a nearby neighbor saw what was happening and immediately jumped in. He was able to pin the suspect down until officers arrived.
The suspect, 22-year-old Romario R. Hall of Albany, was arrested and is now facing several felony charges, including first- and second-degree burglary. Police also say he drove to the home in a stolen car.
Guilderland Police thanked the neighbor for stepping in, saying his quick thinking helped bring the situation under control and likely prevented further harm.
