David Frizzell Upholds Traditional Country Sounds In 2026
Country Legend David Frizzell has been a part of Country Music since the days his brother dominated the Jukeboxes alongside Hank Williams in the 50s. David Frizzell was a mainstay on Country Radio throughout the 80s singing hits like ‘I’m Gonna Hire A Wino (To Decorate Our Home)’ ‘Lost My Baby Blues’ ‘Where Are You Spending Your Nights These Days’ and ‘You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma’ ‘I Just Came Here To Dance’ and ‘Another Honky Tonk Night On Broadway’ with Shelley West- earning them the 1981 and 1982 CMA Vocal Duo of The Year Award.
Active all through the years of shifting musical styles and trends in the Country Music Business, David Frizzell is a well respected legend who’s still producing outstanding collaborations and new projects! Fan favorites include Frizzell and Friends: ’This Is Our Time’, The ‘Buddy Holly Country Tribute’, The Western themed ‘RoundUp’ collection and The 2025 All-Star Salute to brother Lefty Frizzell: featuring Bill Anderson, Merle Haggard, Jimmy Fortune (of the Statler Brothers), Gene Watson, Georgette Jones, Shelly West and Moore and Moore.
David Frizzell is Country Music royalty, carrying on the family tradition of Frizzell family classics like ‘If You’ve Got The Money, I’ve Got The Time’ ‘I Love You A Thousand Ways’ ‘Mom & Dad’s Waltz’ ’Saginaw, Michigan’ ‘Long Black Veil’ ‘Always Late With Your Kisses’ and ‘That’s The Way Love Goes’- written and originally recorded by Lefty Frizzell, and turned in to a Grammy Winning performance by Merle Haggard: who often cited Lefty Frizzell as his main music influence.
