The City of Glens Falls is warning of an upcoming road closure this weekend.

Murray Street, between South Street to Willis Street, will be closing Saturday, May 17th from 8:00am to 5:00pm.  The closure is while USA Luge conducts the White Castle Slider Challenge, which is a nationwide athlete recruitment tour of USA Luge, which according to their website, identifies, trains and qualifies young athletes for the USA Luge Junior Development Team.

The Glens Falls stop is along two others on the USA Luge website, with Columbus, Ohio playing host back on May 3rd and 4th.  Salt Lake City is another stop, which will be going on this same weekend.  The city of Glens Falls has played host to this before, previously in 2023.

For more information about the USA Luge White Castle Slider Challenge, visit their website.

Local traffic only will be permitted on sections of Mohican Street and lower Murray Street.  The city also notes Pruyn's Island will remain accessible via a detour from Mohican Street using Basin Street and Henry Street.

Traffic will be urged to seek alternate routes.
