The Harding Mazzotti law firm secures arena naming rights through 2030.
We now know the new name for the Glens Falls arena.
It will be the Harding Mazzotti Arena, according to a press release that was issued by the Adirondack Thunder on Monday. The deal lasts through 2030.
The former Glens Falls Civic Center, which became the Cool Insuring Arena in 2017, opened in 1980 and has hosted thousands of events since its inception in downtown Glens Falls. Once the home of the American Hockey League's Adirondack Red Wings, and later the Adirondack Phantoms and Adirondack Flames, the arena now plays host to the ECHL Adirondack Thunder.
The facility also is home to Section 2's Boys Basketball Championships and the Section 2 Wrestling Championships every winter, the annual rivalry between the Queensbury Spartans and the Adirondack Rivermen high school hockey teams, and also hosts the NYSPHSAA Girls Volleyball Championships in November.
It previously was the home for the NYSPHSAA Boys Basketball Championships until 2017, when the event shifted venues to Binghamton before coming back for another three year stint in 2021. The championships are in Binghamton for the next two years.
Many concerts, events and shows have also taken place at the arena.
“Harding Mazzotti’s partnership with the Adirondack Civic Center Coalition to sponsor Harding Mazzotti Arena underscores our commitment to improving the communities we serve and call home,” said Harding Mazzotti LLP managing partner, Paul Harding. “Adirondack Thunder Hockey, and the other events hosted at Harding Mazzotti Arena, will provide unparalleled family activities for both residents and visitors alike, and stimulate economic activity and investment in our communities. We look forward to a successful partnership for many years to come.”
